Ugh hi. I know I've been absent from this space for quite a while, and I don't really have a good excuse... I've just been out living! Things have been busy, in a good way, and I'm ready for vacation! Luckily, I'm boarding a plane on Thursday morning to go meet up with some of my favorite peeps! In the meantime, here are some random musings about life lately.
The lake is so beautiful this time of year. Growing up in Florida, I was very much a beach person and never understood the appeal of lakes. Why would you want to be at a lake when the ocean was so much better?? Pontoon boats in Nashville started to show me a bit of what lake-life was all about, but living in Geneva and having the lake in the center of the city is amazing.
Speaking of leisure time, I've been reading a ton, including this book at the recommendation of my friend Katie. As the title implies, "Overwhelmed" is about busy people being busy and struggling to deal. And do you know what my overwhelming reaction to a lot of this book was? I feel so lucky that I don't feel that way. Obviously, not being married or having kids automatically eliminates a lot of the areas that people in this book find difficult to balance. After all, I have a pretty small household and really only need to worry about me! But I also was thinking a lot about how grateful I am to be at this place in life where I feel like my life is full of good things but I don't feel overwhelmed by it. Hooray for happiness :)
Another thing I've been feeling lately - sick! I don't think I ever fully recovered from the cold I had in Romania, and one of my recent house guests was a little bit sick as well, so I'm back to fighting this little bug. I feel like I've been sick more often since moving to Europe. I'm not sure what it is? This past weekend, we had a company away-day at a hotel spa in Valais, and I spent a good chunk of Saturday morning hanging out in the various steam rooms (so many! so cool!) in the spa. That seemed to really help clear up my sinuses and my chest for a while, so maybe my body is just missing humid air?? That can't be it, right?
Ok, enough emoting. I have also been eating some delicious foods lately! Summer produce is so delicious, and after stuffing my face with pastries and bistro food in Paris, I've tried to eat a lot of good fresh foods in these past few weeks. Just in time to head to Italy and feast on pasta, pizza, and gelato later this week!
Ok, that's all for now. I may not get a chance to write again before July, as I am having a good-bye dinner (sniff!) with Ashley tomorrow night, and I fly out early Thursday morning. Hope everyone has a great Fourth of July holiday! Ciao!

Yogurt, berries, banana, and oats!
I love El Salad! Their food truck is parked near one of my clients on Wednesdays, but I also had a chance to finally visit their shop! Yum veggies!
Sunday falafel - so delicious!
Joan, Jonathan, Kat, and I had a lovely last dinner in Geneva together at Brasserie Lipp. I started with this artichoke with three dipping sauces!
Octopus!!
Oats, chia seeds, berries, and almond butter!
